Racing Incident Report

At the 900 Metres, SECRET OF KINGS and DASHING THUNDER bumped due mainly to DASHING THUNDER shifting into the one off position. After this, SECRET OF KINGS travelled without cover. In the early part of the Straight, DASHING THUNDER had difficulty obtaining clear running. Over the concluding stages, DASHING THUNDER was hampered by BRILLIANT ONE which when improving towards the outside of ALL TIME HIGH was carried wider by that horse. BRILLIANT ONE was then steadied prior to the winning post. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SECRET OF KINGS, D Whyte said he was unable to offer any explanation. He said the work of SECRET OF KINGS in the lead up to today's race in his opinion had been good and because of this he believed the horse would be competitive. He said SECRET OF KINGS was slow to begin and then raced without cover in the middle stages. He said after straightening SECRET OF KINGS did not respond to his riding and was most disappointing. He said when SECRET OF KINGS was giving ground after the 200 Metres, it became unbalanced in its action, but in his opinion this was because the horse was well beaten at the time. Before being allowed to race again, SECRET OF KINGS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SECRET OF KINGS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SECRET OF KINGS after the race did not show any significant findings. SKYVIEW BAR and EXPEDITIOUS were sent for sampling.
