Racing Incident Report
On jumping, SUPER PEGASUS knuckled. FUJI SUNRISE was slow to begin. GOLDEN SUN began awkwardly and shortly afterwards stumbled. FAT CHOY FOREVER began awkwardly. Near the 200 Metres, WINNING SUCCESS was shifted in away from the heels of GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. In the Straight, FAT CHOY FOREVER hung in. Throughout the race, BULB KING travelled wide and without cover. G Mossé (KINDACROSS) said he had been instructed that as the horse has not been beginning well he should do his utmost to have the horse begin cleanly, then if possible cross to the lead. He said he was able to follow these instructions and shifted to the fence after the 1000 Metres. He did say the pace of the race in the early stages in his opinion was quick and after reaching the lead he endeavoured to steady the tempo without breaking the stride of KINDACROSS. He said in the Straight KINDACROSS gave ground. F Coetzee (FAT CHOY FOREVER) said in his opinion the horse's poor performance was due to it racing up in class tonight and also that it travelled on the inside on a track which appeared to suit horses travelling away from the rail. KINDACROSS and FAT CHOY FOREVER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KINDACROSS and FAT CHOY FOREVER after the race did not show any significant findings. DR GREEN, EXPECTATIONS and GOLDEN SUN were sent for sampling.
