Racing Incident Report
CAPITALAND began awkwardly and lost ground at the start. From the outside barrier, PERFECT FEELING was taken back to a position with cover. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUPER CEE JAY was steadied away from the heels of CAGA BOY (M Nunes) which while being steadied shifted across to the fence in the lead when barely clear. M Nunes was told to exercise greater care. After the 500 Metres, FORTUNE WARRIOR was hampered by CAPITALAND (H K Yim) which after being ridden along improved close to the heels of PIONERO, then shifted out away from that horse. H K Yim was reprimanded and told to exercise care. At the 200 Metres, PIONERO, which was commencing to close the race off, was inconvenienced by SUPER CEE JAY which when giving ground shifted out. Prior to the winning post, CLASSA WIN got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of BRAVE KNIGHT which was giving ground. Throughout the race, SEASONS TREASURE travelled wide and without cover and because of this travelled in a more forward position than usual. D Whyte (DON RICARDO) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said DON RICARDO was fractious in the barriers, then did not begin as cleanly as it has in the past. He said although he travelled in a three wide position, he had cover. He did say the slow tempo of the race did not suit DON RICARDO, however, he felt even considering that factor the horse was disappointing in the manner in which it finished the race off. DON RICARDO was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. FORTUNE WARRIOR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DON RICARDO and FORTUNE WARRIOR after the race did not show any significant findings. CAGA BOY and KING OF FISH were sent for sampling.
