Racing Incident Report

SPLENDID SAILS was slow to begin. MULTI KING began awkwardly. B Prebble (SILENT DRAGON) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of RHYTHM AND GOLD, causing that horse to lose its rightful running. B Prebble was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 26 March 2007 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday 18 March 2007. In addition, B Prebble was fined $40,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. On several occasions approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, RHYTHM AND GOLD, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when close to the heels of SILENT DRAGON. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, MULTI KING hung out badly and shifted wider on the track. On straightening, CLASSIC HORSE was checked and shifted out away from the heels of BEAUTIFUL CHOICE. Approaching the 200 Metres, SPLENDID SAILS was shifted wider on the track. At the 100 Metres, MARVELLOUS and WITHALLMYHEART brushed. Over the concluding stages, SILENT DRAGON and FLAG FINDER raced tight. RHYTHM AND GOLD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of RHYTHM AND GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. SILENT DRAGON and CHOICE AND CHANCE were sent for sampling.
