Racing Incident Report

At declaration time, E Saint-Martin was declared as the rider of both FORTE and INSIDER. It was established that E Saint-Martin had a firm commitment to ride INSIDER. As such, the Stewards permitted M Nunes to be substituted as the rider of FORTE. Mr T K Ng, trainer of FORTE, was fined $2,000 for this error. On jumping, MANZIL lost ground and was bumped by SUNNY CITY which began awkwardly, got its head up and shifted out abruptly. MULTI KING began awkwardly and lost ground. FORTE was slow to begin, then got its head on the side and hung out for a short distance. After this, FORTE then hung in. MORE THAN HAPPY was slow to begin and then throughout the race hung in. When under pressure near the 400 Metres, MANZIL, which commenced to hang out, shifted ground, obliging S Dye, its rider, to stop riding and straighten his mount. GALBRAITH and HOLI RAVIOLI were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FORTE had lost its left front plate.
