Racing Incident Report
BUDDIES POWER, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 30.3.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, BUDDIES POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving in the saddling stalls, it was noted SHATIN WIN WIN had shifted its left front plate. The horse was re-plated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. PAY-DAY was slow to begin. On jumping, SUPER DRAGON lost ground when crowded for room between UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR and MULTI-WIN SPIRIT, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, REWARDING STAR was taken back to find a position with cover. In the middle stages, SHATIN WIN WIN hung out. At the 100 Metres, CHINA SPORTFIELD, which was closing the race off strongly, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of GLOBE RIVER. Throughout the race, FORTUNE GOLD travelled wide and without cover. Mr T W Leung, trainer of COP HILL LAD, was unable to offer any explanation for the improved performance of the horse. He did say prior to last start COP HILL LAD had been racing moderately in a higher class. He said at its last start from a wider barrier COP HILL LAD was left racing without cover and performed poorly. UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SHATIN WIN WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR and SHATIN WIN WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. COP HILL LAD and GLOBE RIVER were sent for sampling.
