Racing Incident Report

FIRST AMONG EQUALS was slow to begin. After the 1000 Metres, HE CAN TANGO, which was proving difficult to settle, became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of WHATABOB. This caused some crowding to VICTORY STYLE which was racing inside HE CAN TANGO. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SUGAR ON TOP shifted in and bumped HE CAN TANGO. After the 800 Metres, WHATABOB, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of REGENCY DRAGON. As a consequence of this, WHATABOB shifted to a three wide position without cover and carried AMPLE GAINS wider. Shortly after straightening, SECRET OF KINGS was steadied and shifted to the inside of HE CAN TANGO. At the 400 Metres, GALLANT LION and SICHUAN HERO became unbalanced after bumping as a result of both horses shifting ground. Near the 100 Metres, GALLANT LION, which was closing the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted to the outside of SECRET OF KINGS which at this time was shifting in. After the 100 Metres, GALLANT LION was steadied and shifted back to the inside of SECRET OF KINGS when disappointed for running between that horse and EXPRESS WIN, both of which shifted ground. Because of this, GALLANT LION was not fully tested. Throughout the race, AMPLE GAINS travelled wide and without cover. GALLANT LION was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GALLANT LION after the race did not show any significant findings. EXPRESS WIN, GREAT GUY and REGENCY DRAGON were sent for sampling.
