Racing Incident Report
TIGER RIDGE, which was standing with its head turned to the left, began awkwardly and was then taken across behind runners. PROPELLOR, GOLDEN CARE and DASHING CHAMPION from wide barriers were taken across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, DASHING CHAMPION was steadied when awkwardly placed inside WHIPLASH which momentarily shifted in. Prior to straightening, ENCORE WIN brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. From shortly after straightening until the 100 Metres, PROPELLOR, which was hanging in, was steadied when awkwardly placed between WHIPLASH and TRAVEL CONSULTANT which initially shifted out slightly of its own accord and then was carried out further by BRILLIANT ONE. When questioned regarding the poor performance of TRAVEL CONSULTANT, Y T Cheng said the horse was fractious in the barriers which is not unusual. He said TRAVEL CONSULTANT began better tonight than it has in its recent runs and from a favourable barrier he then made some use of the horse to obtain a midfield position. He said TRAVEL CONSULTANT travelled comfortably throughout the race, however, when placed under pressure in the Straight did not respond to his riding. TRAVEL CONSULTANT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. GOLDEN CARE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of TRAVEL CONSULTANT and GOLDEN CARE after the race did not show any significant findings. CONFUCIUS CLASSIC and CANNONISE were sent for sampling.
