Racing Incident Report

For some distance passing the 1400 Metres, GOOD PARTNER proved difficult to settle and was steadied away from the heels of SOARING RIVER. Passing the 1000 Metres, GOOD LUCK WIN momentarily raced tight inside MY MATE ADRIC. For some distance after straightening, WALKONTHEWILDSIDE raced in restricted room between WINNING REWARD and CHATER D’CAT. Over the concluding stages, WALKONTHEWILDSIDE raced tight inside CHATER D’CAT. Then near the winning post, WALKONTHEWILDSIDE and CHATER D’CAT bumped as CHATER D’CAT was taken in by HOLIDAY SUN. Passing the 200 Metres, GOOD LUCK WIN (A Suborics) and GOOD PARTNER (Apprentice T H So) raced at close quarters, resulting in both riders having difficulty riding their mounts out until the concluding stages. Throughout the race, MASTER DREAMER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. When questioned, B Doyle stated that after entering the Home Straight he switched SOARING RIVER to the inside as he felt that he would be able to obtain a run inside CASH MONEY which shifted out at the entrance to the Straight. He said he rode SOARING RIVER along in the early part of the Straight to obtain the run to the inside of CASH MONEY, however, approaching the 200 Metres was obliged to check SOARING RIVER when CASH MONEY shifted back in. He said due to having committed himself to the inside of CASH MONEY, he was unaware of a run that had eventuated to the outside of that horse and to the inside of GOOD LUCK WIN. B Doyle was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he should avail himself of every opportunity to obtain clear running and, in the opinion of the Stewards, he had erred on this occasion by continuing to attempt the run to the inside of CASH MONEY rather than shifting to the outside of that horse. A veterinary inspection of CASH MONEY after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of SOARING RIVER after the race did not show any significant findings, however the Veterinary Officer reported that the horse was unable to be scoped. YUE LU TREASURE and GOOD PARTNER were sent for sampling.
