Racing Incident Report

When proceeding to the barriers, C Williams was dislodged from SEIZE THE DAY. On arrival at the Start, SEIZE THE DAY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. GENERAL POWER was slow to begin. WINNING STRATEGY began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of NOBLE ZOOM. A short distance later, WINNING STRATEGY was steadied when crowded for room between SPLENDID SAILS and NOBLE ZOOM which shifted out slightly. MUTUAL GAIN began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BAYVIEW GREYSLEW which in turn was taken out onto the hindquarters of SEIZE THE DAY which became unbalanced. Shortly after the start, SOLITAIRE was taken across behind runners. Near the 1100 Metres, SUPREME COMMANDER was steadied away from the heels of FORTUNE KING (A Suborics) which shifted in when not clear. A Suborics was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. When being steadied in the early stages, MIGHTY FEELING got its head in the air and proved difficult to settle. Passing the 1000 Metres, MUTUAL GAIN became unbalanced when bumped by SEIZE THE DAY which shifted in. Also passing the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE KING shifted in and bumped BAYVIEW GREYSLEW. Passing the 800 Metres, SEIZE THE DAY commenced to over-race and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of SPLENDID SAILS. After this, SEIZE THE DAY was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, BAYVIEW GREYSLEW proved difficult to settle. Rounding the Home Turn, MIGHTY FEELING was bumped by WINNING STRATEGY which shifted out to improve. Shortly after the 400 Metres, WINNING STRATEGY became unbalanced and lost its position when attempting a run between FORTUNE KING which shifted out slightly and MIGHTY FEELING which then shifted in slightly. No action was taken. TOP SPEED had difficulty obtaining clear running until after the 200 Metres. WINNING STRATEGY, SPLENDID SAILS and TOP SPEED were sent for sampling.
