Racing Incident Report
As the start was effected, BLINK AGAIN reared, hit its head on the overhead bar and consequently lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, BLINK AGAIN will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. INDUSTRIAL MARVEL shifted out at the start, resulting in MAGIC TEMPLE being taken out onto SPARKLING FEELING which was crowded for room inside MISTER HORSE which, after being bumped on the hindquarters by SPARKLING FEELING, became unbalanced. Making the first turn, SPARKLING FEELING hung out badly across the heels of SUNSHINE BOY, resulting in MISTER HORSE being taken wider. In the circumstances, the Stewards ruled that SPARKLING FEELING must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend before being allowed to race again. Approaching the 200 Metres, TYCOON TAYLOR and MAGIC TEMPLE brushed as TYCOON TAYLOR shifted out into clear running. Near the 150 Metres, TYCOON TAYLOR raced tight between MAGIC TEMPLE and EVER BEAUTY which shifted out slightly. Over the final 50 Metres, TYCOON TAYLOR was steadied away from the heels of MAGIC TEMPLE which shifted in. Because of this, TYCOON TAYLOR was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. When questioned regarding the performance of JOYFUL JOYFUL, B Prebble stated that the horse came on and off the bridle throughout the race and when asked to produce a finish in the Straight failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL JOYFUL after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of BLINK AGAIN after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a mild abrasion wound to the forehead and also an endoscopic examination confirmed it to be a “roarer” which had previously been reported. EVER BEAUTY, MAGIC TEMPLE and TYCOON TAYLOR and were sent for sampling.
