Racing Incident Report
KIMBER FORTUNE was crowded for room at the start between MARVELLOUS and WINNING STRATEGY which shifted in. In this incident, both KIMBER FORTUNE and WINNING STRATEGY became unbalanced. GOOD JOB began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the 1000 Metres, GOOD JOB got its head up and proved difficult to settle. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of GOOD JOB, W C Marwing was unable to offer any explanation for the horse’s performance tonight. He said GOOD JOB was particularly disappointing in its failure to travel on the bit and close off the race as had been expected. When questioned regarding the performance of KIMBER FORTUNE, D Whyte stated that his mount was hesitant to race inside runners and after obtaining a position on the rail approaching the 1000 Metres was then reluctant to maintain its position and continually attempted to shift away from the rail. He said because of this he was obliged to ride KIMBER FORTUNE along throughout the race in an endeavour to have the horse race more genuinely. He added that after the race he advised the connections that they experiment with the gear of KIMBER FORTUNE in an attempt to have the horse concentrate better in its races. A veterinary inspection of KIMBER FORTUNE, KEEP GOING and GOOD JOB after the race did not show any significant findings. KIMBER FORTUNE, ALL THE WINNERS and DR UNION were sent for sampling.
