Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, LET ME FIGHT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. Also on arrival at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to MULTIGLORY was replaced. On arrival at the Start, W M Lai expressed concerns regarding the action of WHITE JADE. An inspection of WHITE JADE by the Veterinary Officer did not reveal any abnormalities. After being trotted up, W M Lai continued to express concerns regarding the horse’s action and advised that he was not willing to ride the horse. Under these circumstances, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of WHITE JADE. Before being allowed to race again, WHITE JADE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. CERISE CHERRY began awkwardly, blundered and after this did not muster speed despite being ridden along and then after the 850 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. Shortly after the start, OUR LUCKY BABY was crowded for room between AASHIQ and AMIGO which was taken out by SPECIAL DAYS. Near the 900 Metres, AASHIQ, which was proving very difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of BLAZE KING (G Cheyne) which, after shifting in of its own accord, was taken in further by MULTIGLORY (M Chadwick). Both G Cheyne and M Chadwick were reprimanded and advised to ensure that they are sufficiently clear of other runners when shifting ground. Passing the 800 Metres, AASHIQ, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of BLAZE KING. For some distance passing the 400 Metres, LITTLE BRIDGE raced in restricted room between AMIGO which was taken out slightly by AASHIQ and CERISE CHERRY. In the Straight, SIGHT WINNER got its head on the side and lay in. Throughout the race, HIGH POINT travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MULTIGLORY after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea. LITTLE BRIDGE and LET ME FIGHT were sent for sampling.
