Racing Incident Report

Passing the 300 Metres, DAILY DOUBLE was awkwardly placed outside LIONS’ FORTUNE which was shifting out to obtain clear running. Over the final 100 Metres, LOTUS LOVE got its head on the side and lay in. Close to the finishing line, the whip carried by G Cheyne (LUCKY NISTELROOY) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of Apprentice C Y Ho (DREAMS MAKER). When questioned, B Prebble said that passing the 1100 Metres the opportunity was available for MISTER HORSE to improve its position to be racing to the inside of DAILY DOUBLE. He said however that he would have had to ride MISTER HORSE along to obtain this position and as MISTER HORSE was settled at this time, he was reluctant to push the horse along and to have it then over-race. Throughout the race, LOTUS LOVE and LONGWAH KID travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of CARE FREE LUCK after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CARE FREE LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of INVINCIBLE HEART after the race did not show any significant findings. DREAMS MAKER, CLEMENT SPIRIT and LOTUS LOVE were sent for sampling.
