Racing Incident Report

MAJESTIC HEART got its head up at the start and began awkwardly. Near the 1300 Metres, GREEN CASH got its head up and then hung out across the heels of EURO SWIFTLY approaching the 1200 Metres. After the 600 Metres, MAJESTIC HEART and WO AI NINN bumped when taken out by GREEN CASH which was shifted to the outside of EURO SWIFTLY to improve its position. For the majority of the race KENOBE travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice K C Leung (SUNNY MORE) was fined a sum of $5,000 for dropping his whip shortly after entering the Straight. It was noted that this was the 4th occasion this season that Apprentice Leung had dropped his whip during races. When questioned, Apprentice C Y Ho (OCEAN PRINCE) stated that he had been instructed to ride the horse in 3rd or 4th position if possible behind the leaders. He said passing the 1200 Metres he was racing outside and behind HELENE WITTY. He said at this time he attempted to continue to steady OCEAN PRINCE as he was open to the possibility that HELENE WITTY may shift away from the fence and he did not wish to be taken unnecessarily wide. He said however that despite his attempts to restrain OCEAN PRINCE, that horse would not come back underneath him as he wished. He said therefore he allowed OCEAN PRINCE to stride forward, however, near the 900 Metres HELENE WITTY shifted away from the fence before he was able to improve his position around that horse and this resulted in OCEAN PRINCE being taken three wide and without cover. He added when this occurred, HO HO LIFE was ridden along to obtain the position one horse off the fence behind HELENE WITTY and for this reason OCEAN PRINCE continued to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the race. Apprentice Ho was advised that he should wherever possible ride his mounts in such a manner so as to avoid covering unnecessary ground. Apprentice Ho was also reminded of his obligation to ride his mount out to the end of the race wherever possible. He was told that this was the second occasion he has been spoken to recently regarding his riding out of horses over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of MAJESTIC HEART and GREEN CASH after the race did not show any significant findings. HO HO LIFE, HAPPY GUYS and HELENE WITTY were sent for sampling.
<31/3/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>GREEN CASH, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GREEN CASH was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer S Woods this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GREEN CASH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
