Racing Incident Report
Whilst in the Parade Ring, SUPREME WINNER had its right front plate refitted. SUPREME WINNER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. GRACYTOM was slow to begin. POTENTIAL and VIVA FREEDOM bumped at the start. From wide barriers, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE and NAMJONG HUNTER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. During the early stages, VIVA FREEDOM proved difficult to settle. After being steadied to allow GOLDEN YIELD to cross passing the 1000 Metres, TOMODACHI got its head up and proved very difficult to settle and after the 1000 Metres was severely checked to avoid the heels of GOLDEN YIELD. At the 1000 Metres, POTENTIAL was steadied to avoid the heels of POLYMER POWER (M Du Plessis) which shifted in when not quite clear. M Du Plessis was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. VIVA FREEDOM, SUPREME WINNER and SPARKLING, which were following, were checked in consequence. POLYMER POWER hung out rounding the Home Turn. At the entrance to the Straight, FASTPLUS MASTER and SPARKLING bumped as FASTPLUS MASTER attempted to shift out to obtain clear running. Also at the entrance to the Straight, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOBLE DELUXE and then near the 400 Metres was steadied when disappointed for running between NOBLE DELUXE and FASTPLUS MASTER which shifted in when held up for clear running behind MERRY TOWKAY. After this, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE was shifted in across the heels of GOLDEN YIELD to obtain clear running near the 250 Metres. FASTPLUS MASTER was not able to obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres and then over the final 50 Metres was steadied when unable to improve between LIFE OF BEAUTY and NOBLE DELUXE which shifted out. Because of this, FASTPLUS MASTER was not ridden out to the end of the race. Over the final 200 Metres, SPARKLING lay in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, GRACYTOM travelled wide and without cover. VIVA FREEDOM and SUPREME WINNER were sent for sampling.
<25/4/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that LIFE OF BEAUTY was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, LIFE OF BEAUTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
