Racing Incident Report
KING OF SCOTS was withdrawn on 29.10.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, KING OF SCOTS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIN PRACTITIONER was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between HOLLYWOOD KISS and JAMESINA which was taken out by BEAUTY TOUCH. Near the 1500 Metres, BEAUTY TOUCH and SMART GIANT bumped due to BEAUTY TOUCH shifted in. After the 800 Metres and again rounding the Home Turn, HOLLYWOOD KISS raced in restricted room inside of HELENE WITTY. When questioned, G Mossé explained that he had been instructed to lead on HELENE WITTY. He said in the early stages it seemed apparent to him that HOLLYWOOD KISS was intent on holding the lead, therefore he steadied HELENE WITTY with a view to taking the position outside and behind that horse. He said when he did this, HOLLYWOOD KISS was steadied by its rider. He said when this happened, he then allowed HELENE WITTY to stride forward after the 1400 Metres to ascertain whether he would be in a position to cross HOLLYWOOD KISS. He said however that HOLLYWOOD KISS continued to maintain its position to his inside and because of this he was not able to cross into the outright lead as the sectionals of the race were, in his opinion, quite quick after the 1200 Metres. He added that because of the work that he was obliged to do on HELENE WITTY in the early stages, the horse was then not able to finish off its race. When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that he had been instructed to cross to the rails on HOLLYWOOD KISS and then to lead on that horse. He said it was felt that HOLLYWOOD KISS races best when able to lead in its races as it has not finished off when travelling behind runners. He said the early stages of the race were run at only a fair tempo, however, when HELENE WITTY improved its position after the 1400 Metres, he maintained his position to the inside of that horse in accordance with his instructions. He said this resulted in the tempo of the race after the 1200 Metres increasing, however, he was reluctant to steady HOLLYWOOD KISS as he had been instructed to maintain the lead on that horse. A veterinary inspection of HELENE WITTY after the race did not show any significant findings. SMART GIANT and JAMESINA were sent for sampling.
