Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, both MOBILE STAR and GIANTS SERAPIS became fractious. Before being allowed to race again, MOBILE STAR and GIANTS SERAPIS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. From the outside barrier, MOBILE STAR was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Also from a wide barrier, DRAGON CHOICE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 900 Metres, PRESTO was steadied away from the heels of BAMBOO DANCE which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by FIGHTING HEART. Making the first turn near the 850 Metres, DRAGON CHOICE shifted out abruptly when being checked away from the heels of GIANTS SERAPIS. Near the 800 Metres, SUNSEEKER was checked away from the heels of TARREGA. Approaching the 800 Metres, AMBITIOUS OWNER was left racing wide and without cover and in the Straight weakened. Shortly after entering into the Straight, RIGHT TIMING was shifted in away from the heels of PRESTO. In the Straight, ELEPHANT CHEERS hung in and proved very difficult to ride. Over the concluding stages, RIGHT TIMING was awkwardly placed behind TARREGA and inside ELEPHANT CHEERS which continued to get its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. Because of this, RIGHT TIMING was not fully tested over the concluding stages. When questioned, D Whyte said as the start was effected, RIGHT TIMING lifted its front feet off the ground and bounded in the air. He said when this occurred, the horse slipped behind, resulting in RIGHT TIMING becoming badly unbalanced. He said it then took RIGHT TIMING some time to become properly balanced again by which time the horse had lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, RIGHT TIMING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TARREGA had sustained cut wounds to both hind cannons. A veterinary inspection of CHANCELLOR after the race did not show any significant findings. RIGHT TIMING, SOLAR BOY and TARREGA were sent for sampling.
