Racing Incident Report

OUR DYNASTY was withdrawn on 12.12.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HEALTHY BLUEBERRY. Before being allowed to race again, OUR DYNASTY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HEALTHY BLUEBERRY began awkwardly and despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, THE ONLY KID raced in restricted room inside FORTUNE COOKIE which was momentarily taken in by COMPACT YARN. Near the 550 Metres, JADE PINS was steadied away from the heels of PERFECT TEN which, after initially shifting out, shifted back in slightly. In the early part of the Straight, FORTUNE COOKIE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PROSPERITY. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of SUPREME TYCOON, Apprentice K C Ng stated that he had been instructed to lead on SUPREME TYCOON if possible, however, if other horses were ridden to lead and the pace of the race was good, he should take the position behind the leaders. He said in the early stages he rode SUPREME TYCOON along vigorously to obtain a forward position and after travelling 200 Metres he formed the view that SUISSE D’OR and COMPACT YARN would be ridden to lead the race. He said because he had to make use of SUPREME TYCOON and SUISSE D’OR had to be ridden along to go forward, he allowed that horse to cross SUPREME TYCOON after the 1200 Metres rather than continue to engage in a speed battle with that horse. He said after this SUPREME TYCOON travelled well behind SUISSE D’OR, however, when the pace quickened approaching the 400 Metres SUPREME TYCOON was left flat-footed and did not show any turn of foot. He added after this SUPREME TYCOON weakened out of the race and was disappointing. A veterinary inspection of SUPREME TYCOON after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPREME TYCOON, SUISSE D’OR and COMPACT YARN were sent for sampling.
