Racing Incident Report
WHITE HART KING was withdrawn on 3.7.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter YOUNG HERO (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, WHITE HART KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BLOSSOM DAILY, which was fractious after being placed in the barriers, was leaning on the inside of its stall as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin. WHY NOT and SUNNY MORE were crowded for room at the start between SOHNA and JUGGERNAUT which shifted out. After this, WHY NOT was taken across behind runners. From the outside barrier, WEALTH PARK was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. M Du Plessis (JUGGERNAUT) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that passing the winning post on the first occasion he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of EL GRANDE, causing that horse to be checked and lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. M Du Plessis was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 30 July 2012 on which day he may resume race riding. The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 15 July 2012. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, WEALTH PARK proved very difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of YOUNG HERO for some distance. In the Straight, RAY’S FAVOURITE got its head on the side and hung in and close to the finishing line raced tight outside JUGGERNAUT which shifted out. Also in the Straight, EL GRANDE got its head on the side and hung in. For the majority of the race, SUNNY MORE and SOHNA travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that EL GRANDE had lost its right front plate. A veterinary inspection of SUNNY MORE and SOHNA after the race did not show any significant findings. RAY’S FAVOURITE and JUGGERNAUT were sent for sampling.
<5/7/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>SOHNA, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SOHNA was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P F Yiu this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front and left hind legs. Before being allowed to race again, SOHNA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
