Racing Incident Report

WHY NOT was badly crowded for room at the start between AMBASSADORSHIP which initially shifted in of its own accord and then was taken in by ALWAYS WELL and ALL LUCKY which shifted out after being bumped by CHARMGOLD.
CLASSIC FIGURE began awkwardly and lost ground.
From wide barriers, GLACIER BLUE and THANKSGIVING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 800 Metres, SPECTACULAR AWARD was awkwardly placed close to the heels of COLUMBUS LINE.
Near the 700 Metres, WHY NOT was taken wider and without cover by GLACIER BLUE which shifted out.
Near the 500 Metres, GLACIER BLUE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KEEP-A-PIN and then rounding the Home Turn raced tight inside WHY NOT.
COLUMBUS LINE was badly held up for clear running from after the 400 Metres until approaching the 200 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, KEEP-A-PIN got its head on the side and hung in.
For the majority of the race, ROCKET PROUD travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, W C Marwing stated that with the blinkers being added to the gear of AMBASSADORSHIP, he had been asked to ride the horse in about 4th or 5th position with cover if possible. He said after being ridden along out of the barriers to obtain a forward position, AMBASSADORSHIP commenced to over-race near the 1200 Metres. He said due to the circumstances of the race and the manner in which AMBASSADORSHIP was travelling, he was not able to obtain cover on the horse and was obliged to race in a slightly more forward position than had been intended.
A veterinary inspection of ALWAYS WELL, ROCKET PROUD and SPECTACULAR AWARD after the race did not show any significant findings.
WHY NOT and GLACIER BLUE were sent for sampling.
