Racing Incident Report

DISCIPLES TWELVE and CASTLE HERO bumped at the start.
Passing the 800 Metres, DISCIPLES TWELVE was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of DELIGHT FORTUNE which shifted out.
After the 800 Metres, GRIMMY shifted in, resulting in MENTOR racing tight between that horse and DAPPER BOY.
Over the final 400 Metres, EVERYONE’S CHOICE got its head on the side, hung out and proved difficult to ride.
Passing the 100 Metres, MENTOR was momentarily crowded for room between WINNIE’S HORSE and CASTLE HERO, both of which shifted ground.
W M Lai reported that DAPPER BOY felt unbalanced in its action over the latter stages of the race. After the race, DAPPER BOY collapsed.
When questioned, T Clark stated that with the strong early pace, FORMULA WON was not able to travel comfortably at the rear of the field. He said he commenced to niggle the horse along from the 800 Metres to have it improve its position, however, the speed of the race was too quick and FORMULA WON got out of its ground in the early stages. He added the pace of the race continued to be strong and he had to ride FORMULA WON along from the 500 Metres to have it improve its position. He said over the final 400 Metres when placed under full pressure the horse then responded to his riding and closed off the race strongly, particularly over the final 200 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of CASTLE HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped.
A veterinary inspection of EVERYONE’S CHOICE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GRIMMY and DANE PATROL were sent for sampling.
<11/3/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>CASTLE HERO, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. CASTLE HERO was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CASTLE HERO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
