Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the barriers, the tongue tie carried by EASTERN PROMISE was replaced.
FIRST SIGHT LOVE was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between EASTERN PROMISE and SPARKLING B which shifted in.
CROESUS shifted out at the start, resulting in STEP FASTER being taken out onto FUJIAN SPIRIT. STEP FASTER and FUJIAN SPIRIT were then taken across behind runners a short distance later.
Shortly after the start, CROESUS, from a wide barrier, was shifted in across behind runners and near the 1000 Metres became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WINNIE’S HORSE.
Despite begin ridden along in the early stages, XI YING MEN failed to muster speed and then throughout the race travelled wide and without cover.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, SPARKLING B shifted out and was steadied away from the heels of HINYUEN PALADIN which itself shifted in slightly.
Passing the 900 Metres, PALEPALE became unbalanced when bumped by SPARKLING B which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
After the 600 Metres, FIRST SIGHT LOVE, which was racing greenly, was checked and lost ground after shifting out abruptly across the heels of SUPREME ESSENCE. FUJIAN SPIRIT, which was following, was hampered in consequence. After this, FIRST SIGHT LOVE continued to race greenly and passing the 200 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure. The racing manners of FIRST SIGHT LOVE were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FIRST SIGHT LOVE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial around a bend.
Near the 550 Metres, SPARKING B blundered after shifting out and striking the heels of XI YING MEN. SUPREME ESSENCE, which was following, was checked in consequence.
Approaching the 100 Metres, IMPECCABLE shifted out under pressure.
After the race, K C Leung (EASTERN PROMISE) reported that his saddle shifted back shortly after the start.
Also after the race, C Y Ho (STEP FASTER) reported that his saddle shifted back in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of CROESUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
IMPECCABLE and WINNIE’S HORSE were sent for sampling.
