Racing Incident Report

GLORIOUS RYDER was withdrawn on 22.6.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter READY TO CELEBRATE (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS RYDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Whilst in the saddling stalls, CALIFORNIA DUDE had its left front plate refitted. CALIFORNIA DUDE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
GOOD TREASURE began awkwardly.
BUDDY BUDDIES was slow to begin.
APPROVE shifted out abruptly at the start.
After the 1400 Metres, GOOD TREASURE proved difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.
Passing the 700 Metres, READY TO CELEBRATE shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DR GOOD HABIT.
Passing the 300 Metres, HOLMES LEGEND got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.
For some distance after the 300 Metres, PEPPERMINT was held up for clear running behind WINNING MASCOT which was giving ground. Approaching the 200 Metres, PEPPERMINT was then shifted out away from the heels of WINNING MASCOT to continue improving.
Over the final 100 Metres, CALIFORNIA DUDE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHANCELLOR
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GOLDLAND DANCER had lost its right hind plate.
DR GOOD HABIT and CHANCELLOR were sent for sampling.

<24/6/2013 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that CALIFORNIA DUDE was lame in the right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIA DUDE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
