Racing Incident Report

TRES MAGNIFIQUE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore capped elbow). Before being allowed to race again, TRES MAGNIFIQUE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SUISSE DO'R was slow to begin.
ROYAL KNIGHT began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, CHATER D'CAT and MOBILE KING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, PRECISION ERA failed to muster speed and passing the 1600 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside FOREVER AHEAD.
After passing the winning post on the first occasion, PERFECT JOY was steadied away from the heels of DASHING SUPER (J Moreira) which shifted in when not properly clear. J Moreira was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.
HEALTHY BLUEBERRY travelled wide and without cover in the early stages and passing the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward into the lead.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, GREAT STORIES got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIN ALONG.
Also approaching the 1200 Metres, SHIFACHI TRADITION was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRECISION ERA.
After the 1200 Metres, ROYAL KNIGHT got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle.
After the 800 Metres, PERFECT JOY and GREAT STORIES raced tight as PERFECT JOY shifted out. Then making the turn near the 700 Metres, PERFECT JOY became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WIN ALONG and racing tight inside GREAT STORIES.
FOREVER AHEAD made the turn near the 700 Metres awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in ROYAL KNIGHT being badly crowded for room inside OLE OLE which became badly unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by ROYAL KNIGHT. CHATER D'CAT, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.
Approaching the 500 Metres, PERFECT JOY and GREAT STORIES both became unbalanced after bumping on a number of occasions.
Passing the 500 Metres, SUISSE D'OR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHATER D'CAT.
DASHING SUPER had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
J Moreira (DASHING SUPER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of FOREVER AHEAD, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. J Moreira was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on, Thursday, 28 November 2013 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 17 November 2013.
Over the concluding stages, HEALTHY BLUEBERRY raced tight inside DASHING SUPER which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure. Because of the racing manners of DASHING SUPER over the concluding stages, that horse was not able to be fully ridden out to the end of the race.
When questioned regarding WIN ALONG being ridden in a forward position tonight, M L Yeung stated that when he had ridden the horse previously, it had always been the intention for it to be in as forward a position as possible. He said that was particularly the case at its most recent start when it drew barrier 3. He said in accordance with his instructions, on that occasion he rode his mount along to take up a forward position, however, WIN ALONG did not muster speed and was obliged to race further back in the field than had been hoped. He added tonight, from barrier 10, he was able to ride the horse along for some distance without being crossed by other runners which allowed it to be able to obtain a forward position. He said however that WIN ALONG, after travelling well throughout the race, gave ground in the Straight and based on the manner in which it closed off the race last start as compared to tonight, WIN ALONG may be better suited by being ridden more patiently.
A veterinary inspection of FOREVER AHEAD immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, FOREVER AHEAD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of WIN ALONG immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea and confirmed the horse to be a "roarer " which had previously been reported.
OLE OLE and PERFECT JOY were sent for sampling.
