Racing Incident Report

OUTDOOR PEGASUS was withdrawn on 18.2.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PERFECT CHEERS (C Y Ho). Before being allowed to race again, OUTDOOR PEGASUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
TRAVEL BRAND was slow to begin.
PERFECT CHEERS began awkwardly, shifted out and in doing so bumped JOLLY VICTOR.
From the outside barrier, PLEASURE GAINS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, BUBBLE CHIC was severely checked when crowded for room between JOLLY VICTOR which remained racing in a position one horse off the fence and CHATER DREAM which got its head on the side and shifted in when racing tight inside MIGHTY HIGH which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in despite the considerable efforts of its rider, T H So. PLEASURE GAINS, which was following, was hampered and shifted out away from the heels of BUBBLE CHIC in consequence. The Stewards found that this incident was as a result of a number of circumstances but principally the racing manners of MIGHTY HIGH, however, they were of the opinion that T H So had fulfilled his obligation in attempting to prevent MIGHTY HIGH from shifting ground and therefore no further action was taken.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, CHATER DREAM was crowded for room inside MIGHTY HIGH which continued to race with its head on the side and shift in despite the efforts of its rider.
Passing the 1200 Metres, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of JOLLY VICTOR.
Approaching the 900 Metres, JOLLY VICTOR got its head on the side and lay in. PLEASURE GAINS, which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Passing the 900 Metres, SUNNY YING was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 200 Metres, LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT, which was closing off the race, raced tight between SUNNY YING which was giving ground and BUBBLE CHIC which shifted out.
Near the 150 Metres, SUNNY YING, which was continuing to give ground, was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY FOREVER after being crowded for room between that horse and LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT which got its head on the side and shifted out.
At the 100 Metres, LUCKY FOREVER, which was tiring, was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY DOUBLE EIGHT which was taken out by BUBBLE CHIC.
A veterinary inspection of LUCKY FOREVER and SUNNY YING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JOLLY VICTOR, TRAVEL BRAND and BULLISH BOY were sent for sampling.
