Racing Incident Report

TELECOM PRINCE and GLORIOUS RYDER bumped at the start.
HOXO began awkwardly and shortly after the start was taken out by STAG KNIGHT. After this, HOXO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Shortly after the start, JUN JU and MARTIAL KING were also taken across behind runners.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, WIN ALONG was crowded for room between OYSTER and GLORIOUS RYDER which shifted out after bumping with TELECOM PRINCE. After this, GLORIOUS RYDER continued to lay out.
Passing the 1200 Metres, SAFARI MAGIC was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON GLORY.
Also passing the 1200 Metres, MARTIAL KING was awkwardly placed behind JUN JU.
Approaching the 500 Metres, HOXO was steadied when attempting to improve inside CHATER D’CAT where there was insufficient room.
Near the 350 Metres, TELECOM PRINCE, which was giving ground, was checked away from the heels of MARTIAL KING (M Chadwick) which shifted out away from the heels of STAG KNIGHT which was commencing to give ground. After this, MARTIAL KING got its head on the side and lay out under pressure in the Straight. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised in future he must make every endeavour to ensure that his mounts do not shift ground when insufficiently clear of other runners.
Approaching the 200 Metres, HOXO got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of NOBODY BUT YOU. HOXO then became unbalanced and shifted in which initially caused tightening to JUN JU on its inside. A short distance later, JUN JU was steadied when CHATER D’CAT (N Callan) shifted out. N Callan was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was some contribution to this incident from HOXO, nonetheless he must in future ensure that he does not allow his mounts shift ground when insufficiently clear of other runners.
Throughout the race, STAG KNIGHT travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of TELECOM PRINCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM PRINCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, B Prebble reported that after beginning awkwardly WIN ALONG did not muster speed in the early stages despite being ridden along and did not travel as well as it did on the turf at its last start when successful. He said WIN ALONG was not balanced at any stage of the race, felt awkward in its action and finished off the race only fairly. A veterinary inspection of WIN ALONG immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination found that horse to have an inflamed larynx.
Also after the race, W M Lai (OYSTER) reported that the horse’s action deteriorated when travelling along the Back Straight. He said despite this, he rode OYSTER along for some distance after the 700 Metres in an endeavour to have it improve its position, however, OYSTER continued to travel poorly and because of this he eased it down in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of OYSTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, OYSTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GLORIOUS RYDER and FOREVER AHEAD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WIN ALONG, HOXO and SAFARI MAGIC were sent for sampling.
<26/6/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>GLORIOUS RYDER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GLORIOUS RYDER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer R Gibson this morning. He said at this time he found the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS RYDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
