Racing Incident Report
MY DARLING was steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, ARCADA was steadied to obtain a position closer to the rail, however, after travelling keenly in the early stages was left racing wide and without cover at the 1000 Metres. Then rounding the Home Turn, ARCADA gave ground and was eased down over the final 300 Metres. A veterinary inspection of ARCADA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of ARCADA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ARCADA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Passing the 1200 Metres, MY DARLING was shifted out away from the heels of CALIFORNIA JOY which at this time was being vigorously ridden along in an attempt to obtain a position inside WORLD RECORD. Then after being crossed by WORLD RECORD, CALIFORNIA JOY travelled keenly behind that horse passing the 1100 Metres.
Near the 75 Metres, MY DARLING shifted out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TAKING AIM.
