Racing Incident Report

On proceeding to the Start, SHANGHAI POWER lost its left front plate. The start was delayed due to SHANGHAI POWER having to be replated. SHANGHAI POWER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
GENERAL TRUMP shifted in at the start and inconvenienced RAGING BLAZE.
BLAZING BEAT shifted out on jumping and bumped THE ELITES which was taken out across the heels of SHANGHAI POWER which on jumping shifted out and inconvenienced WINNING STRIKES.
LUCKY TREASURE lost its left front plate and FANTASTIC FABIO lost its right front plate in the middle stages.
M Chadwick (WINNING STRIKES) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he failed to take sufficient endeavours to prevent his mount from shifting in, resulting in VIVA MAMA being directed in onto GALLANT CAVALIER, causing GALLANT CAVALIER to be hampered when crowded for room inside VIVA MAMA, and in turn shift in and inconvenience SHANGHAI POWER. M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 6 February 2022 and to expire on Thursday, 10 February 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Chadwick’s good race riding record. BLAZING BEAT, which was improving towards the heels of SHANGHAI POWER, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
Passing the 300 Metres, RAGING BLAZE was shifted out away from the heels of WINNING STRIKES to obtain clear running.
Close to the finishing line, RUN RUN GOOD was bumped by E HONEY (M F Poon) which shifted in. M F Poon was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Throughout the race, LUCKY TREASURE travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, K Teetan (GENERAL TRUMP) reported that despite being ridden along throughout the early and middle stages, his mount did not show any early speed and raced well back in the field.
A veterinary inspection of SHANGHAI POWER and FANTASTIC FABIO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
E HONEY and RUN RUN GOOD were sent for sampling.
