Racing Incident Report
GOD OF DRAGON was slow to begin.
SKYEY SUPREME stumbled on jumping.
From wide barriers, SO WE JOY and KING’S CAPITAL were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After being ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position, ULTRA EXPRESS was steadied away from the heels of TIANCHI MONSTER passing the winning post on the first occasion.
After the 1300 Metres, ROMANTIC COMBO travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed behind APACHE PASS.
LEAP OF FAITH travelled wide and without cover until after the 1000 Metres at which time PARTY EVERYDAY was left racing wide and without cover.
GOD OF DRAGON had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
After the 200 Metres, TIANCHI MONSTER raced tight inside the heels of APACHE PASS.
Also after the 200 Metres, KING TOURBILLON was shifted to the outside of LEAP OF FAITH after being disappointed for running between that horse and SKYEY SUPREME.
Passing the 100 Metres, BEAR SLAM raced tight outside PARTY EVERYDAY when taken wider by that horse which lay out under pressure.
When questioned regarding the performance of EVERYONE’S DELIGHT, A Badel stated that it was felt that EVERYONE’S DELIGHT would have sufficient natural speed to be able to cross runners to its inside without having to be ridden along to do so. He said as EVERYONE’S DELIGHT was racing on the All Weather surface and over 1800 Metres for the first time tonight and due to the wide barrier and carrying top weight tonight, he was asked not to push his mount along in the early stages to obtain a forward position as having to be made use of in the early stages may not allow EVERYONE’S DELIGHT to finish the race off. He said EVERYONE’S DELIGHT began awkwardly and immediately on jumping commenced to hang out. He said he would have had to ride his mount along vigorously in the early stages to cross runners to its inside to obtain as forward a position as hoped and as LEAP OF FAITH appeared as though it was going to be left racing three wide and without cover after the winning post on the first occasion, he elected to steady his mount to obtain a trailing position behind that horse. He said however that as he did this, EVERYONE’S DELIGHT commenced to hang out and he was not able to shift across to race behind LEAP OF FAITH. He said after the 1400 Metres EVERYONE’S DELIGHT continued to hang out which allowed PARTY EVERYDAY to shift out and occupy the position behind LEAP OF FAITH. He added EVERYONE’S DELIGHT continued to hang out throughout the race which resulted in the horse travelling very wide and without cover. He said he placed EVERYONE’S DELIGHT under pressure after the 700 Metres, however, the horse, when continuing to hang out, gave ground and for this reason he eased it down in the early part of the Straight. A veterinary inspection of EVERYONE’S DELIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance and racing manners of EVERYONE’S DELIGHT, which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, EVERYONE’S DELIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of KING’S CAPITAL immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse’s trachea.
APACHE PASS, PARTY EVERYDAY and BEAR SLAM were sent for sampling.
