Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
5 THESIS (H111) Approaching the 1400 Metres made contact with HAPPY DAILY when racing tight to the inside of PERFECTO MOMENTS. Approaching the 700 Metres was momentarily crowded between YOUTH POWER which shifted out slightly and PERFECTO MOMENTS which shifted in. Over the concluding stages brushed with COURIER MAGIC due to both runners shifting ground. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of HAPPY DAILY. For a short distance after the 200 Metres raced greenly. Near the 100 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider H Doyle having to stop riding and straighten her mount. Sent for sampling post-race.
11 COURIER MAGIC (H290) Over the concluding stages brushed with THESIS due to both runners shifting ground.
2 HAPPY DAILY (E294) Bumped approaching the 1400 Metres.
3 MIDORI FUJI (J432) On jumping bumped with YOUTH POWER and became unbalanced.
10 YOUTH POWER (H358) Bumped at the start. Near the 1400 Metres raced in restricted room to the inside of FIREFOOT when that runner was taken in slightly by WAH MAY WAI WAI which shifted in before being corrected by its rider. Approaching the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by HIGHLAND RAHY which shifted out when being checked away from WAH MAY WAI WAI.
8 CHARMING STEED (E494) After the event, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that his mount raced "flat” tonight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 SMART FIGHTER (H278) Jumped only fairly and was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Leaving the 400 Metres became unbalanced when racing tight to the inside of HIGHLAND RAHY. After the event, L Ferraris confirmed that his instructions were to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages as SMART FIGHTER was stepping up in distance from the 1200 Metres in order to allow it to run out the 1650 Metres of tonight’s event. Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions and the reason why such instructions were issued.
9 FIREFOOT (J183) After the event, A Badel stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and this was the reason why it did not run on in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
6 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) After the event, L Hewitson stated that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages. He added in the Home Straight he was held up for clear running behind WAH MAY WAI WAI before being checked away from that runner approaching the 250 Metres. He said as a result his mount finished the race off only fairly thereafter. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
12 PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) Raced very wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.
7 WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) After the event, M Chadwick stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to make too much use of his mount in the early stages to cross to race outside the lead and this was the reason it gave ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
