14 K160  AGENDA  26/10/2025   129  AGENDA (K160) jumped only fairly. When questioned regarding his riding rider stated that he was instructed to hold a handy position preferably with cover. He said in the early stages when caught wide and when a runner was positioned to his outside he elected to allow his mount to stride forward to attempt to obtain a position with cover. He said when unable to obtain cover he allowed his mount to stride forward with a view to racing to the outside of another runner. He said when that runner then shifted away from the rail that resulted in his mount continuing to race wide and therefore he elected to allow the horse to continue forward. He added after that runner crossed to the lead he endeavoured to steady his mount to set a more sustainable pace but did not wish to place too much pressure on the horse to avoid it over-racing. He said although he was aware the pace of the event was being run inside of standard time he felt it was in the best interests of the horse to maintain a comfortable rhythm as his mount is one-paced and would have to be able to run out a strong 2000M. After considering his explanation the Stewards advised rider that, wherever possible, he should endeavour to set a more sustainable pace to afford his horses with the best opportunity to finish the race off - Race 129.

1 G138  S J TOURBILLON  26/10/2025   129  S J TOURBILLON (G138) when questioned regarding her riding in the early and middle stages and in particular the fast pace that was set during the running of the race rider stated that her instructions were to lead the event. She said in the early stages when crossed by a runner she was content to remain racing behind that runner but after being crossed her mount commenced to race keenly and for that reason she shifted to the outside of that runner with a view to maintaining a position to that horse’s outside. She added when another runner improved to her outside near the 1500M her mount continued to race keenly and refused to settle which resulted in the horse racing forward and crossing to the lead. She said although she was aware that the pace of the event was fast she was unable to set a slower tempo due to a runner being positioned to her outside.
