Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards viewed the patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection on behalf of the 4th placegetter after being steadied at the 150M. When the Stewards were satisfied the horse had not established clear running between the eventual winner and 2nd placegetter they declined a protest/objection. When questioned rider stated that after following 2nd placegetter into the Home Straight he observed 2nd placegetter lay out on straightening and therefore he elected to endeavour to improve between 2nd placegetter and the eventual winner. He said when 2nd placegetter then shifted in at the 250M his mount was held up for clear running between the 250M and the 150M he was obliged to steady his mount at the 150M - Race 114.

Throughout the early and middle stages raced keenly and got its head up for some distance near the 800M when being crossed by a runner. He said when unable to cross runners to his inside his mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight as it was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
