7 L062  STORMY KNIGHT  14/12/2025   256  STORMY KNIGHT (L062) when questioned rider stated that his mount, which was having its first race start, was reluctant to race amongst other horses. He said near the 300M he improved into a narrow run after which his mount would not continue to improve between runners. He said whilst he was obliged to steady his mount near the 200M when two runners shifted ground, he felt the racing manners of his horse was the principal reason for it having to be steadied - Race 256.

Trainer confirmed that from the outside barrier he had instructed rider to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages. Between the 400M and the 200M had difficulty obtaining clear running. After being shifted in near the 150M then was held up over the final 100M when racing tight - Race 250.

10 K421  BRAVE WIN  03/12/2025   231  BRAVE WIN (K421) on jumping was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced - Race 231.
11 H057  SAME TO YOU  03/12/2025   230  SAME TO YOU (H057) bumped at the start. Rider stated that the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner but after jumping well it held a more forward position than what had been intended - Race 230.

When questioned rider stated that in the early stages when positioned to the outside of a runner he was obliged to shift in behind that runner when placed in restricted room. He said throughout the event his mount hung in which he attributed to the horse still being relatively inexperienced. He added that throughout the middle stages he was obliged to urge his mount to maintain its position at the rear of the field and upon entering the Home Straight he then commenced to shift the horse out to secure clear running. He said in the Home Straight his efforts to do so were hindered by the horse hanging in and as a result approaching the 100M, when his mount was commencing to finish the race off, he was obliged to reduce his vigour for a short distance to ensure that he was able to shift to the outside of a runner which was giving ground. He further stated that once he obtained clear running his mount finished the race off well under hands and heels riding. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 248.
