1 9 NATIVE LANGUAGE (CB116) D Whyte -- Began well and settled in mid-division around 3Ls off leader 2-wide turning for home. Steadily shifted out in the latter part of the turn and ran home strongly when asked 350 M out to win readily.
2 7 AFICIONADO (BV293) S Dye -- Best out from wide draw and raced 1-1/2Ls off leader and steadily shifted in to be 2 to 3-wide. Stayed in similar position through to straight. All out 300 M out and ran on steadily but unable to fend off challenge from winner.
3 10 JOYOUS CHEERS (CA301) C Williams B Broke fairly and niggled along to lead briefly and was headed at 1000 M mark. Soon raced 1-1/2 to 2Ls off leader on rail through to straight. Under pressure after 350 M and made up steady ground but was no match for the first pair.
4 6 PAR AVION (BV220) D Dunn -- Unable to muster early speed to settle in worse than midfield 2-wide. Gradually shifted out in straight and was put under pressure after 350 M ran on fairly to be closest at finish.
5 5 FORTUNE LAD (CB279) O Doleuze -- Niggled along to race 6Ls off pace on rail. Commenced to push along to hold position at about 900 M and eased off around 700 M. Was one-paced when asked at 300 M before making up little late ground.
6 11 MUNDAHISH (BT250) M W Leung V Missed the start slightly and race 3-wide around 3Ls off leader. Only one-paced in the straight and ran past some beaten runners.
7 2 POT BLACK (CA079) G Mosse SR Jumped well and pushed hard early but only managed midfield 2-wide. Unable to quicken in the straight and further weakened in the closing stages.
8 3 FAIRWAY FINDER (BV021) G Schofield B/TT- On jumping became badly unbalanced and soon dropped to rear position towards the outside. From 800 M steadily improved to midfield. Under pressure 300 M out but found no extra and stayed one-paced to the line.
9 1 TOUCH OF CLASS (CB129) A Marcus B/TT Jumped badly and raced in the rear section on rail through to straight. On straightening shifted out and placed under pressure but found nothing and stayed same pace to the line.
10 8 BUDDIES POWER (CB201) M Cahill -- Began well and raced in the better than midfield section on fence. About the 700 M commenced to lost position steadily. Found nothing in the straight and further weakened after 200 M.
11 4 FAMOUS BRAND (CA353) S K Sit -- Pushed hard early to claim lead after the 1000 M mark and took rail running at 800 M with no more than 1L advantage through to straight. Unable to quicken and soon faded after 200 M.
12 12 WINNING WAYS (CB017) W M Lai B Missed the start slightly from wide draw. Soon dropped to the tail and shifted in closer to the rail. Shifted out for clear running turning for home but made no impression.
