1 6 MY PARTNER (CB449) G Mosse -- Began well. Ridden along to lead and steadily shifted inwards to be on fence with no more than 1L advantage through to straight. Responded well in straight to fend off repeated challenge from 2nd placegetter.
2 11 HORACE'S HORSE (CB043) G Schofield B Broke fairly and soon raced 2Ls off leader on fence. 1L down entering straight and when asked 300 M out made up steady ground but was unable to overhaul the winner.
3 1 NATIVE LANGUAGE (CB116) E Saint-Martin -- Began well and soon settled 3 to 4Ls off pace 4-wide without cover through to straight. Made up steady ground in straight but was never in position to trouble the 1st pair.
4 8 MONEY (BV153) S K Sit B Jumped fairly and soon eased to rear section around 2 to 3-wide. When asked 300 M out ran home fairly to be closest at finish.
5 2 SHOW WIN (CB110) F Coetzee SR Began well and niggled along to race 2-wide 1L behind leader. Remained there until placed under pressure on straightening unable to quicken and stayed on evenly to the line.
6 3 UTMOST EASY (CA106) W M Lai -- Began fairly and soon settled in mid-division on inner through to straight. When asked 300 M did not quicken and stayed one-paced to the line.
7 4 EASY PUNCH (CB276) M Cahill -- Jumped awkwardly and pushed along to maintain position in rear section around 3-wide. All out 300 M out and made up steady ground from 200 M but no extra over the concluding stages.
8 5 GOLD RICE BOWL (CB296) K S Yu -- Began fairly from wide draw. Soon eased to the tail and shifted across onto rail. Under pressure from 400 M and switched wide, made up some ground in straight.
9 12 FIRST KNIGHT (CB357) D Dunn B Soon settled at rear section on fence through to straight. Unable to quicken in straight and only ran past couple of beaten runners.
10 9 FORTUNE LAD (CB279) O Doleuze -- Jumped very awkwardly. Soon recovered to race in worse than midfield section around 2-wide through to straight. Did not respond to pressure in straight.
11 10 MR HECTOR (CB349) R Quinn B Soon raced 2-wide in prominent position through to straight. Found nothing in the straight and faded after 200 M. (Hung in throughout.)
12 7 NICE FRIENDS (CC020) E Legrix -- Missed the start slightly and soon recovered to be in midfield around 3-wide. Did not quicken in straight and further weakened after 200 M.
