3 3 JUSTINIAN (CB324) D Whyte SR Soon settled in midfield 3 wide without cover. Went forward at the home bend to be 1L off pace on straightening. Kept on well when asked 350 M out but was unable to match speed with the 1st pair inside final 200 M.
4 7 SWISS LAD (CC209) D Dunn B Prominent in the early stages and took outright lead on rail around the 1100 M. Soon after the 400 M mark was headed and kept on fairly in straight but was overhauled by 3rd placegetter near the line.
5 5 TRIUMPH (CC214) W C Marwing V Soon settled in rear section 3 wide. Slowly edged forward at home bend to be in midfield on straightening. Under pressure 350 M out and made up good ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
6 2 JOYFUL WORLD (CC200) R Fradd B Raced in mid-division on rail and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Slowly got shuffled back to rear section at home turn. Made up some ground inside final 200 M when asked 300 M out.
7 8 GLORIOUS RHYTHM (CC163) J Spencer -- Unable to muster early speed to race in rear section on rail. Switched out in straight and made up steady ground. After the 200 M steadied when short for room, soon regained running and made ground to be closest at finish.
8 12 BRILLIANT (BV278) S K Sit B Broke fairly from wide draw and soon eased to the tail but closer to fence. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running, made up steady ground when asked 350 M out to be closest at finish.
9 14 UNIVERSAL PIONEER (CB293) A Delpech B/TT Raced in midfield 3 wide and proved difficult to settle in the early stages. Raced in similar position through to straight. Stayed one-pace when asked 350 M out and weakened slightly inside final 200 M.
10 10 CHARIOT OF WEI HAI (CB144) W Woods H1 Began awkwardly and soon recovered to race in midfield on rail through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 350 M out and kept on evenly to the line.
11 13 MR PRESIDENT (CA178) K C Tsang SR Jumped fairly and raced in midfield or worse 2 wide through to straight. Only kept on evenly to the line when asked 350 M out.
12 11 SOUTHERN LIGHT (CB439) G Schofield SR1 Shortly after the start checked severely when crowded for room and raced in rear section 2 wide. Shifted out to find clear running for home but unable to make any impression when asked 300 M out.
13 9 SUNDAY DELIGHT (CC225) J Quinn -- Tardy start and raced in worse than midfield. After the 800 M was caught wide without cover. Made little progress at home turn but unable to sustain effort in straight and further weakened inside final 200 M.
14 6 WADADELIGHT (CC340) W M Lai B Niggled along to race in better than midfield on fence through to straight. No extra when asked 350 M out and steadily tailed out thereafter.
