4 2 SOLID CONTACT (BP168) W M Lai -- Broke well. Niggled along on fence at midfield middle stages. Continued to make steady progress in the straight and just missed a minor placing.
5 3 WINNING COUNTER (CA008) A Marcus B Behind midfield shortly after start and raced further back after being checked at 1000 M. Ridden hard to improve after being crowded 600 M out. Ran on well in the closing stages to be closest at finish.

9 6 PAOBRIDGE (CB073) P H Lo B- Ridden hard on jumping but couldn't muster speed to stay with the leaders. Steadied at 1000M and fell further back to behind midfield. Urged to stay on 700 M but still remained near the rear on straightening. No extra.
10 11 LUCKY TRIO (CB199) C Williams -- Ridden hard early and raced 3-wide behind leaders. Couldn't keep pace after 700 M and dropped back steadily. Widest turning in and made no impression in the straight.
11 10 GLOBE MARK (CD227) K T Yeung -- Slowly away then checked shortly after the start. Remained racing in a rearward position until straightening. Only ran past a weakening runner.
12 7 ARABIAN WAGER (CD048) D Whyte -- Stumbled on jumping and was ridden up to race among leaders. Continued to race alongside the pacesetter in the backstraight. No response when asked 500 M out and was eased out of the race shortly after.
