3 3 HANDBAG PREMIER (CD137) H W Lai -- Jumped well and led narrowly in the early stages, after the 1400 M steadily eased to race around 1L off pace on rail to straight. Under pressure 400 M out and made good impression inside final 200 M to grab 3rd place in the final stages.
4 2 BEING FAMOUS (CD018) O Doleuze TT Broke fairly and ridden along to race in better than midfield 2 wide. After the 1200 M improved to prominent position to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 400 M out but became one-pace in the closing stages.
5 13 LUCKY VICTORIES (BT163) M W Leung B Soon settled in worse than midfield around 3 wide. Switched out and made little headway turning for home. All out 350 M out and made up little ground inside final 250 M to be closest at finish.
6 1 LUCKY SUPERSTAR (CA270) H K Yim -- Jumped awkwardly and failed to muster early speed to race at the back on rail. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running. Under pressure 400 M out and made up steady ground inside final 250 M to be closest at finish.
7 4 CHINESE KID (CC091) W Woods SR Tardy start and raced towards the rear section 2 wide through to straight. Unable to see clear daylight in early part of straight, made up little ground inside final 200 M when clear running was obtained 250 M out.
8 7 CHING HOI BOY (CC222) G Mosse B Broke fairly and niggled along to race in midfield or worse 2 wide. Switched out and edged closer turning for home. Hung in in straight and proved difficult to ride, only ran on evenly to the line.
9 14 PREMIER CRU (CD148) W M Lai SR Slow to begin and was soon steadied when crowded for room. Pushed along to race in midfield on rail to straight. Kept on same pace and only ran past couple of beaten runners inside final 200 M.
10 10 KING OF THE TURF (CC124) S Dye -- Broke fairly and raced in midfield or better 2 wide through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
11 11 ON THE TEE (CB052) C Williams SR Began fairly and niggled along to race in better than midfield on rail. Pushed along to maintain position at home turn. Under pressure 300 M out but failed to make any impression.

13 9 TATTLETALE (CC328) F Coetzee B1 Unable to show early speed and raced at the tail 2 wide. Switched to the widest on straightening to obtain clear running. Failed to make any impression in straight.
14 12 SHERWOOD FOREST (CC304) J Holder TT Began well from widest and ridden along to share lead in the early stages. Took outright lead on rail after the 1300 M to straight. Headed 350 M out and steadily dropped out thereafter. (Lame left front leg.)
