2 8 RAINBOW DIAMOND (CD183) R Fradd -- Broke with field and soon eased to a rearward position on fence through to straight. Near the 200 M was checked when crowded for room. Ran home strongly when clear running was obtained near 150 M to grab 2nd on the line.
3 9 MR BEAUTIFUL (CB057) E Saint-Martin -- Jumped fairly and ridden along to race in midfield on rail through to straight. Shifted to the middle to obtain clear running and ran on well inside final 200 M but was overhauled by 2nd placegetter on the line.
4 7 OLIVE OR TWIST (CB271) C Soumillon B Began awkwardly and niggled along to race in midfield or better 2-wide. Switched out on straightening to obtain running, ran on fairly in straight but was never in position to trouble the placegetters.
5 4 RISING WIN (CC089) D Holland H Shortly after the start was hampered and dropped to the rear on rail through to straight. Under pressure 250 M out and made up little ground inside final 200 M to be closest at finish.
6 5 JUSTINIAN (CB324) F Coetzee TT Broke well and soon raced in a handy position 2-wide with cover through to straight. Unable to quicken when asked 250 M out and only able to keep on evenly to the line.
7 2 SHINING DRAGON (CC181) O Doleuze SR Broke with field from wide draw and hard ridden along to take up running on rail from around the 1400 M with around 1L advantage to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 250 M out, headed near 200 M and slightly weakened thereafter.
8 3 AURELIAN (CC025) D Whyte B Broke fairly and pushed along to race in midfield 2-wide through to straight. Near the 200 M whilst only running on evenly was crowded for room and unable to show much running thereafter.
9 12 COTTON BALL (CD327) C Williams -- Broke with field and soon raced in a rearward position 2-wide. Switched wide on straightening to obtain clear running but was only able to run on evenly to the line when asked 250 M out.
10 6 STEPS AHEAD (CD257) B Prebble B Tardy start and soon raced in a handy position on rail. Under pressure rounding the home turn to maintain position. Only kept on evenly in straight and faded inside final 100 M.
11 11 UPPA HAND (CD221) S Dye -- Began well from wide draw and soon raced in a prominent position 2-wide through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 250 M out and steadily faded inside final 150 M.
12 10 PURPLE GOLD (CD249) M W Leung V-/TT Began very awkwardly and lost a lot of ground. Raced at the tail on rail through to straight. Unable to show any impression in home straight.
