2 6 STRONG GALLOP (CC236) C Williams TT Began well from wide draw and soon eased to a rearward position closer to the rail. From 1000 M made steady improvement to be in midfield on straightening. All out 200 M out and ran on well but without threatening.
3 4 TIME SUPREME (CE012) E Saint-Martin B1 Shortly after the start checked when crowded for room. Raced in rear section around 3 wide, steadily switched to the widest from 600 M to obtain clear running in home straight. Made good impression inside final 250 M.
4 8 TOP HEALTH (CD015) W M Lai SR- Broke fairly and soon raced in midfield or better 3 wide whilst pulling hard in the early to middle stages. Ran on quite well when asked 350 M out but just failed to figure in the placing. (Lame left fore.)
5 12 KING OF SPADES (CC056) S K Sit B Soon eased to the rear on rail and prior to straightening was steadied to avoid heels. Made up steady ground from the outside to be closest at finish when asked 300 M out.
6 3 PLENTY OF HEART (CD380) G Mosse TT1 Broke fairly from a wide gate and raced in midfield or worse around 4 wide without cover when made headway from the outside at home turn. Under pressure 400 M out and plugged on gamely to the line without threatening.
7 11 PRESENT TREASURE (CC077) R Fradd -- Began well from widest and hard ridden along to race in a forward position 4 to 5 wide without cover to straight. Kept on fairly when asked 350 M out but slightly weakened in the final stages.
8 10 HARVEST (CD125) H K Yim SR Jumped awkwardly and soon eased to the rear section on inner through to straight. Under pressure 350 M out and ran on quite well but near the 200 M was steadied when unable to improve. Continued to improve fairly when in clear 150 M.
9 1 CHOSEN ONE (CD347) A Delpech -- Broke fairly and pushed along to race outside the leader through to straight. Gained lead near the 400 M but was headed near the 200 M and steadily weakened thereafter.
10 14 VITAL PATROL (CC335) G Schofield -- Broke fairly and soon raced in a forward position 3 wide no cover. Near the 1000 M steadily eased back to better than midfield with cover. Ran on fairly in straight but needed to steady several times to avoid heels.
11 7 HAPPY ALL AROUND (CD248) H W Lai B Jumped fairly from wide draw and niggled along to race in midfield or better around 3 wide. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running but was unable to show much running in straight.
12 2 EUPHORIC KID (CB165) B Prebble B2/TT Jumped well from wide draw and pushed along to race in a forward position 3 wide no cover through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 400 M out and steadily faded inside final 200 M.
13 5 MIRACULOUS (CE115) O Doleuze -- Soon raced in a handy position 2 wide through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out but only kept on same pace and further weakened inside final 200 M.
14 13 GIFTED RUNNER (CC139) K W Tsui -- Broke fairly and ridden along to take a slender lead on rail through to straight. Headed near 400 M and dropped out steadily thereafter.
