2 6 MONZA KING (BV280) D Whyte B Broke fairly and soon settled in a rearward position 2 wide. Steadily switched to the outside at home turn to obtain clear running. Ran on well when asked 400 M out but just failed to run down the winner.
3 8 SPECTACULAR HIT (CC194) C Williams -- Slowly away and soon raced in a rearward position on rail. Switched out and made little headway rounding the home bend. Responded quite well when asked 350 M out to grab 3rd place near the line.
4 2 SOCRATES (CD336) O Doleuze V Broke with field and pushed along to take narrow lead on rail through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 400 M out but was headed shortly after the 200 M and just failed to hold onto 3rd.
5 14 SNIPER (CD110) S Dye -- Broke well from wide gate and niggled along to race in a forward position 2 wide through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out and plugged on gamely but just missed out on the placing by a short margin.
6 1 BROWN BEAUTY (CC029) A Delpech V Slow to begin and dropped to the back on inner. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running. Made up little ground inside final 250 M to be closest at finish when asked 400 M out.
7 4 OUT OF MY WAY (CC374) S Sanders -- Broke with field and steadily settled midfield around 2 wide. Near the 700 M steadied when close to heels. Under pressure 350 M out but was unable to quicken and kept on same pace to the line.
8 7 MEMBERS GLORY (CB325) G Schofield B Soon settled in midfield or worse position. After passing the winning post first time was steadied when crowded for room. Stayed in similar position to home straight, only ran on evenly to the line when asked 350 M out.
9 11 HIGH PRICE (CD206) B Prebble H Soon raced in a forward position whilst proving very difficult to settle. Shortly after the 1000 M strided forward to join the leader. Stayed one pace when asked 400 M out and further weakened inside final 200 M.
10 5 TOP PRIZE (CC097) M Rodd B2 Soon eased to the rear section around 2 wide. Made little headway from the outside rounding the home turn. Unable to show much impression in home straight.
11 10 SUPER DANA (CC293) G Mosse B Broke fairly and soon raced in handy position 3 wide. Near 1600 M was steadied and dropped to better than midfield 2 wide. Pushed along to maintain position at home turn and only ran on evenly in straight.
12 9 LUCKY SUPERSTAR (CA270) H K Yim CP Soon raced in midfield or better on rail whilst racing keenly and near the 1600 M was checked away from heels. Stayed in similar position to straight but failed to show any impression when asked 400 M out.
13 13 DIVINE FEELING (CA355) C K Tong -- Soon raced in forward position on rail whilst proving difficult to settle and near the 1700 M was crowded for room. Unable to quicken when asked 400 M out and faded steadily inside final 200 M.
14 12 TREASURE FIELD (CA236) W M Lai TT Broke best from widest and pushed along to race outside the leader. Near the 1000 M dropped back to 3rd place and stayed there till straightening. Failed to respond when asked 400 M out and steadily faded therafter.
