2 13 NOBLE HEART (CC355) C K Tong B Jumped fairly from wide draw and steadily eased to a rear- ward position closer to rail. Switched wide on straigh- tening to obtain clear running. Made up good ground inside final 200 M to snatch 2nd place on the line.
3 3 PICTURE PERFECT (CD297) D Whyte B Broke with field and niggled along to take narrow lead on fence. After the 1000 M was headed and raced in 2nd place to straight. Responded quite well when asked 350 M but was overhauled by 2nd placegetter on the line.
4 5 SPINNING CITY (CB252) G Mosse B/TT1 Began awkwardly and soon recovered to race in a prominent position on rail through to straight. Under pressure 350 M out and ran on fairly but was never in position to trouble the principals.
5 11 SEASONS KNACK (CC242) W M Lai P Broke with field and raced in midfield or better on rail through to straight. Ran on fairly when asked 350 M out and did best work over the concluding stages.
6 1 LUCKY CHAMPION (CD178) M Rodd -- Broke fairly and soon settled in better than midfield 2 wide. Switched out on straightening to obtain clear running. All out 300 M out and ran on fairly but became one-pace in the closing stages.
7 9 HAPPY CRUSADER (CE080) R Fradd SR Jumped fairly from wide draw and steadily settled in midfield 3 wide without cover. Made headway from the out- side at home turn to be 2Ls off pace on straightening. Kept on fairly to the line when asked 350 M out.
8 7 LUCKY KING (CA304) W C Marwing B Tardy start and soon settled in worse than midfield 2 wide. Whilst running on fairly was baulked for a run near the 200 M and continue to close the race off fairly when running was obtained around the 150 M.
9 10 PERFECT MISSION (CC306) O Chavez SR Jumped fairly from wide gate and soon eased to the rear around 3 wide to straight. Near the 100 M whilst closing the race off fairly was steadied when crowded for room and became one-pace thereafter.
10 14 CLASSA VICTORY (CB174) H W Lai -- Best out from an outside draw and steadily settled in worse than midfield 3 wide through to straight. Under pressure 400 M out but failed to quicken.
11 6 BRILLIANT FLASH (CE042) S Dye -- From the widest gate was immediately steadied to the rear but on rail through to straight. Kept on same pace when asked 400 M out and ran past couple of beaten runners in the closing stages.
12 8 SUPER IDEAL (CC223) A Delpech TT1 Jumped awkwardly and soon recovered to race in midfield or worse on rail through to straight. Only able to run on evenly to the line when asked 350 M out.
13 2 THE KING (CD384) D Dunn TT Began well from wide gate and niggled along to race in a prominent position 2 wide through to straight. Stayed one- pace when asked 400 M out and steadily faded inside final 200 M.
14 4 ROYAL FALCON (CE091) O Doleuze TT Began awkwardly and niggled along to race in midfield around 2 wide through to straight. Unable to show much impression when asked 400 M out.
