8 11 WEALTHY TREASURE (CC270) C Brown -- Steadily dropped back to be 3-wide in rear section. Among last few to enter home straight and only ran past a few beaten runners in closing stages.
9 9 BILLET EXPRESS (CD140) C K Tong -- Ridden along out of the gates and raced in a disputed lead. Maintained a length's advantage in a 2-wide position rounding home turn but dropped out soon after straightening.
10 10 GENERAL KINGY (CB039) S K Sit B/TT- Slowly away. Crowded shortly after start and raced near the back. Checked again at 900 M and trailed field. Under the whip to keep pace rounding home turn and made no impression in the straight.
11 3 MULTIDANDY (CA329) F Coetzee TT Jumped fairly from widest draw and was niggled along. Kept within 3Ls of the leaders in 4th from 1000 M onwards. Dropped out soon after straightening. (Lame.)
