4 2 ELECTRONICS SPUR (CE285) C Soumillon TT Fast into stride, pushed on but posted wide from awkward draw, restrained race 3 wide 3Ls away with cover (clipped heels), travelled well into straight, lacked the usual dash to threaten but kept going to make frame.
5 8 SHABU SHABU (CB290) E Saint-Martin -- Tardy to begin, settled in a rearward position on rails 5 to 6Ls from leaders, enjoyed a good run in mid-section, using nothing to turn, eased out and made run between runners in stretch. Good effort giving too great a start.
6 12 LUCKY STALLION (CA249) C K Tong CP Awkward to begin, pushed hard to cross to lead, dictated pace early (overracing), began to roll along from 600 M, held a 2L advantage into straight, collared at 250 M mark and weakened last 100 M after early work.
7 4 DIAMOND ERA (CE040) N Ryan SR/TT Broke with them, allowed to settle early, raced 3 back on fence 3Ls away spent little in mid-section, followed paint in straight, doing best work late to be closest at finish.

9 13 MEMBERS GLORY (CB325) G Schofield B Away with field, pushed along to hold spot behind leader 2Ls away, enjoyed good run but struggled to hold position turning for home, very one paced in straight and gradually lost touch.
10 1 RED PEPPER (CA196) B Prebble -- Broke with them, lacked early toe and drifted back to last, raced at rear 7Ls away in 2 wide trailing position, tracked 4 wide turning for home, made up some ground from well back but only passed tired runners.
11 5 DR MORE (BV164) Y T Cheng -- Began only fairly, taken hold of from widest gate, trapped 4 wide without cover with slow speed, always working throughout 3Ls away, moved to be 2Ls away turning for home but workload took toll and weakened last 200 M.
