6 1 UNIVERSAL PIONEER (CB293) C W Wong TT Broke well and contended for the early lead. Outpaced by leaders after 1000 M and was 2-wide in 4th position making home turn. Remained at same pace before fading closing stages.
7 11 WITHALLMYHEART (CE268) W M Lai P1/TT Outpaced early and gradually dropped to midfield. Wide near the 600 M and dropped to rear section at the bend. Rallied and made up ground in the closing stages.

9 12 SOUTH CHINA NINETY (CA174) H W Lai B Lacked early speed and raced towards the rear. Near last on straightening and made up some late ground.
10 8 MASTER ABLE (CD349) K W Tsui -- Dropped to the rear from widest draw and trailed field until home straight. Only ran past a pair of beaten runners.
