11 SUPER HONEY (CE187) C Munce B Fastest to break, showed good speed to go on and take up spot behind the leader, relaxed well and had run of race with even pace thereafter, eased out to tackle on turn, made good break at 200 M and kept on well tiring a little late.
4 DIAMOND ERA (CE040) D Dunn SR/TT Broke with field, pressed forward to settle in midfield spot 2-wide 4-5Ls from lead, 1 out 1 back with good run in mid-section, swung 3-wide with run entering straight and closed race off strongly to get very close late.
8 SPARKLING STAR (CD055) O Doleuze B Jumped with field, unable to muster early speed, drifted back to settle just of midfield, raced 2-wide 6Ls away throughout, spent little in run, eased out and came from long way back on turn, made up good ground to take 3rd.
3 EVERGREEN (CE106) B Prebble TT Average to begin, niggled along to take up spot 2-wide but 2Ls away, raced first without cover in mid-section, hard pressed to make ground entering straight but stuck to task well to make frame.
12 TREASURE RAIDERS (CE049) W M Lai CP Fast into stride, used up early working hard to cross to lead, overraced in mid-section keeping pace at even tempo, tackled on turn, headed at 150 M and weakened out late after early burn.
1 BEST POWER (CG006) S Dye -- Standard to break, restrained to slot in for cover, positioned in rearward division on rails 8Ls away, raced ungenerously in middle stages, made run from well back on turn, made up good ground late between horses.
7 CELEBRATION (CB029) G Mosse CP Average to begin, hard ridden early to keep midfield spot on rails, raced 4-5Ls away with run of race in middle stages, under hard riding turning for home and lacked another gear to make impression.
2 GALLANT FALCON (CD194) W C Marwing TT Standard to begin, lacked early toe, positioned around midfield 5-back on rails 6Ls from front runners, used no petrol in run, followed paint in straight, kept on at same pace and unable to make an impression.
5 PHOENIX FORTUNE (CD122) G Schofield B Broke well, pressed forward to take up prominent spot 3 back on fence, enjoyed good run therefter, travelled well to turn, found little when gap opened in straight and only plugged to line.
9 BRILLIANT FLASH (CE042) F Coetzee B Shade tardy to begin, asumed position near tail as usual, raced 2-wide 9-10Ls from lead throughout, still well back on turn, made run 4-wide in straight but unable to make up any significant ground. Gave too great a start.
10 SUPER BALL (CD064) C K Tong PC-/B2 Slow to begin, settled 3rd from rear 2-wide 8Ls from pace, used nothing in mid-section, swung wide on turn but showed no turn of foot and could only keep on at same pace to line. Never able to get into it.
