11 INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS (CC317) Y T Cheng -- Out with field, allowed to stride forward and assume spot behind leader, had run of race 1 to 2Ls away on rails, gained split at 350 M, drove through to overhaul leader late to score narrowly in slugging finish.
6 LOTZATOW (CD397) C Munce V Average to jump, restrained from widest alley, raced near rear 8Ls away on rails, not used up in mid-section, tracked nicely to turn, made good ground in straight getting clear at 150 M and charging late. Narrowly missed.
12 SYLLABUS (CD388) A Delpech B/TT Began fairly, unable to muster early speed and posted wide early, angled into 1 out 1 back spot 2Ls away by mid-point, travelled well on turn, came with strong challenge in straight but just lacked dash to take prize.
9 RUM SHOT (CE206) C W Wong B Fast into stride, crossed to lead easily, dictated terms in front, held 1L advantage throughout, travelled strongly on turn, increased speed but couldn't shake them at 200 M, just overhauled late to miss place.
13 BEST POWER (CG006) S Dye -- Average to leave gates, assumed usual rearward role, raced 6Ls away from pace on rail throughout, not asked in middle stages, in traffic on turning angled out and made up steady ground without threatening winner.
14 SOPRANO (CE177) W M Lai B/TT Standard beginning, pushed along to hold position, raced in rearward division 2 wide 7 to 8Ls away, angled out with job to do entering straight, finished race off well to be closest at finish.
2 AGILITY (CC361) W C Marwing -- Only fair to begin, allowed to drift back to tail, raced 3 wide 8 to 9Ls away, travelled comfortably covering extra ground to turn, swung very wide in straight, made good late ground from impossible spot.
5 BEING FAMOUS (CD018) K T Yeung B First to begin, pushed forward from wide alley to race outside leader, travelled easily 1L away without cover, niggled to take closer order on turn, couldn't go up a notch when they sprinted and gradually weakened.
7 RICE FIELD (CE134) H W Lai TT Away well, went forward to take closer position, trapped 3 to 4 wide in midfield 4 to 5Ls away, always working to be 3Ls down on turning, under pressure to keep going and tried hard to challenge but weakened late due to workload.
4 LUCKSWELL (CA171) D Dunn B Began only fairly, hard ridden to drive through into 1 out 1 back spot, had run of race 4Ls away thereafter, always seemed to be struggling and was losing ground on turn, dropped right out of it in straight.
3 DANEHILL EXPRESS (CG245) D Whyte -- Average to break, drifted back to just off midfield, 2 wide 6Ls away, never comfortable and always pushed along, attempted 3 wide run from 600 M, never travelled in run home and not ridden out. (See Racing Incidents.)
1 ORIENTAL MAGIC (CE133) G Schofield TT Began evenly, pushed along to hold spot 3 back on fence 4Ls from pace, enjoyed good run in mid-section, stuck to rails in straight but didn't show any turn of foot and only plodded to line.
10 HEALTHY WEALTHY (CC067) R Quinn -- Away well, restrained when unable to slot in, settled 7Ls away 3 and 4 wide without cover, always working to turn, made run 4 and 5 wide in straight, made no impression and battled home.
