3 CONQUEROR (CE270) H K Yim V Checked at the start, about 6Ls behind speed in 10th until the final bend, headway to be 3Ls down in 4th at 200 M, ran around a little late but still stayed on strongly for 2nd.
9 CENTURY SUPER STAR (CE070) G Schofield V 3-back on fence about 4Ls off pace in 5th at 1000 M, closer turning for home, 2Ls down in 3rd at 200 M, no extra late but did enough for a place.
1 CHECK MATE (CC259) C W Wong BO Steadied at start, worse than midfield about 6Ls behind leader early on, not much better off taking home turn, ran on well inside final 200 M to be nearest at finish.

8 DOUBLE FANTASY (CG141) C Munce -- Raced greenly, 3Ls down in 4th but left 3-wide no cover on the circle, fly-leapt 700 M out, one-paced in home straight.
6 GLOBAL LEADER (CG048) D Whyte -- Slowly away, always about 4Ls or 5Ls off pace in midfield until home turn, always well held by principals. (Lame next day.)
14 AMERICAN VICTORY (CD375) Y T Cheng B Held up towards rear about 7Ls off pace early on and no closer taking home turn, never dangerous.
12 FRAMES DEPOT (CG118) R Fradd -- Dropped in midfield about 4Ls or 5Ls off speed from 1000 M to home turn when 4-wide and under pressure, soon faded out.
