13 FRIENDS FOREVER (CD245) S K Sit SR/V Even break, pressed hard to take closer order, eventually settled 3 wide outside leader, had tough run without cover, tackled for lead on turning, kept going for best part of straight before tiring late to be overhauled by winner.
7 MIRACLE DRAGON (CD254) D Nikolic V1 Broke with rest, pushed up to be amongst them early, unable to slot in and travelled 3 wide between horses in midfield, 3Ls away, had cover throughout but lost position approaching turn, got going again in straight to make good late ground.
14 DANEPRINT (CC221) C W Wong B Average to begin, hard ridden to take closer order, settled in nice spot 2 wide 4Ls away, had cover and enjoyed nice run to turn, in traffic early in straight and stuck to task at same pace when clear, even effort.

5 BALL OF FIRE (CD020) H K Yim V- Crowded shortly after start, pressured to hold ground, raced 6Ls away near rear on rails, not really comfortable inside horses, began to make some ground on turn, still in traffic on straightening and finished off fairly when clear.
9 ALIPES (CD169) Y T Cheng SB Awkward to begin and lost 3Ls, raced at rear on rails 7 to 8Ls off pace, raced well back in 2 wide spot in mid section, still last on turning for home, kept on at same speed to pass weakening runners late.
10 MY EGO (CD072) M W Leung V Broke with rest, lacked early speed and drifted right back to tail 7 to 8Ls away, raced 2 wide throughout spending little in run, eased widest on turning, lacked turn of foot to make impression and closed off race at same pace.
4 GLOBE RIVER (CD228) F Coetzee B2 Fast into stride, kept driving to cross to leaders girth, pressured between runners to turn, 1L down on turning in, unable to show any real dash at business end and gradually weakened out of it late.
8 SIMPLY THE BEST (CE014) M Nunes V- Showed good turn of foot to be prominent early, slotted in to get run of race behind the leader, travelled well to turn, angled into clear at 300 M but failed to find another gear and only plodded to the line.
11 PAY-DAY (CD182) A Delpech SR/TT Average to break but soon gathered speed to drive to lead, rolled along at decent clip (overracing) had no advantage on turning, didn't respond when pressure was applied and weakened badly late (mouth abcess morning after).
6 MASTER ABLE (CD349) W M Lai -- Broke with rest, kept in touch early and ended up in midfield spot 3 wide 4 to 5Ls away, overraced in middle stages, progressed 4 wide on turn, workload took its toll and made no impression late.
